No. Consumers Energy recently announced that it is selling it’s program to Oncourse Home Solutions. The Home Protection Plus Plan is managed and serviced by DTE Gas, your local natural gas provider.

Our expert technicians will diagnose and fix the issue. With our no-deductible repair plans, you won’t pay a dime for the service call, parts or labor.

Yes! As long as you use DTE for one of your utilities, you are eligible to apply for Home Protection Plus. We have technicians throughout West Michigan. They can repair your appliances through HPP, regardless of which gas or electric company provides your service.
The charge for the plan you select will show up on the same account and billing statement as your gas bill. You can pay for this the same way you’d pay for your utilities.
If you are on a payment plan, like Budget Wise Bill or Low-Income Self-Sufficiency Plan (LSP), you must make your plan payment, including your Home Protection Plus payment, by the due date on your billing statement. If you do not make the full payment by the due date, the amount you pay will go toward your utility balance first.

For all protection plans and the air conditioning add-on, your coverage will begin 15 days after enrollment. For GreenBacks Cash protection, coverage begins 30 days after enrollment. For the Water Heater Replacement add-on, your coverage will begin 90 days after enrollment.
If an appliance can’t be repaired and you haven’t added GreenBacks Cash, then you will need to replace the appliance. The GreenBacks Cash and Water Heater Replacement add-ons help cover the cost of replacing an appliance when repairs aren’t possible.
Reimbursement amounts range up to $750 and vary by appliance. GreenBacks℠ Cash reimbursement applies only to the appliances that are covered under your plan and is limited to a total of $2,500 per year.
It’s easy to cancel your HPP plan. You can cancel your Home Protection Plus contract without any penalties up to 10 days after you enroll by calling 800.556.0011.
